The concert setting is the heart of a band experience. Through concert performances, all musicians get to display the skills they have developed. Madison County Bands is held in two sections; the Middle School and High School experiences. As students progress through their years of band, so to will their skills and maturity progress.
The middle school concert band experience is held at the Madison Middle School under the direction of Brett Anderson. Students learn the fundamentals of reading music and playing a beginning Band instrument. The high school concert band experience is held at the Madison High School in tandem with the Madison Early College under the direction of Christopher Chandler. For high school needs and questions pertaining to band, please contact him via information provided by himself and the school system.
High School is all under the same category regardless of grade level. The Fall semester of each year is dedicated towards Marching Band while the Spring semester is reserved for Concert Band. During High School Band, students will improve upon their musical knowledge and ability as they delve into more difficult pieces of literature and routinely attend competitions.
