MC Education Foundation
WHO ARE WE?
The Madison County Education Foundation was founded and organized in 1985 by a visionary group of Madison County Citizens and school system personnel for the purpose of generating financial and other resources for the Madison County School System. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, The Madison County Education Foundation accepts both cash and material contributions, offering the donor a tax benefit based on the value of the donation to the extent allowed by law. Donations may be designated to benefit a particular school or program; or they may be undesignated and applied to the development of an endowment fund to support future programs and projects.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the Madison County Education Foundation is to develop financial and other resources, and to apply those resources in ways that will increase the level of creativity, innovation, and quality of the educational process. The Madison County Education Foundation, comprised of concerned citizens of the community, will work to complement the efforts of the Madison County Board of Education and other non-profit organizations who seek to improve the overall quality of the education system in Madison County.
THE PRIMARY GOALS INCLUDE:
Consistent with the Mission Statement, the primary goals of the foundation are to complement existing programs by soliciting needed resources; to develop and fund supplementary programs or projects consistent with the stated instructional program of Madison County Schools; to develop and fund teacher grants; and to showcase and promote the accomplishments and achievements of the Madison County School System.
Currently, the foundation has three primary activities related to fundraising and program support:
1. Commemorative Brick Project: An area has been prepared in front of Madison High School for the placement of commemorative brick which may be purchased in honor of, or in memory of an individual or class. The brick are professionally inscribed with the desired name and message and are placed on the main walk leading to the front of the school. These brick are being sold for $100.00, a portion of which is tax-deductible.
2. Friends of Madison County Schools Association: Similar to an Alumni Association, however broader in scope and membership, this organization is available for membership upon making a contribution to the foundation. Members contact information will be posted on the Madison County Education Foundation web site in a directory format. A quarterly newsletter will be mailed to members informing them of new developments in the Madison County School System, new and continuing initiatives, programs and volunteer opportunities. Funding levels are available with varying benefits available.
