Early Childhood Educational Program

MCS Early Childhood Educational Program has three Preschool Centers: Madison High School Center, Mars Hill Center and Marshall Center.
All the centers serve children from Birth to Kindergarten.

The goal of the Madison County Early Childhood Education Program is to provide a safe and nurturing environment which promotes the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative development of young children while responding to the needs of families. The staff obviously plays a vital role in the experiences of each child while attending the program.
Our teachers meet the requirements set by the State of North Carolina for qualifications and annual training. Teachers are required to take additional hours of training each year. All teachers are required to obtain the NC Child Care Credential, certification in CPR and First Aid.

The centers operate 52 weeks of the year. Open Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Closed Legal Holidays, emergencies and one staff development day each year.

The Centers participate in the Child Care Food Program sponsored by the Department of Agriculture. We serve breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack to all children at no additional charge to the parents. Formula is offered by the center if the parents choose to use it. Baby food and cereal are furnished to our infants by the center until each child is ready for table food.
