Comprehensive and Targeted School Support

At Madison County Schools, we are committed to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education and the support they need to succeed.

When a school is identified by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) or Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), it means the school is receiving additional support to strengthen student learning and improve outcomes. These designations are designed to help schools grow and provide the best possible educational experience for every student.

What Does This Mean for Families?

Schools identified for CSI or TSI work closely with district leaders and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to:

  • Review student achievement data and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop a school improvement plan based on the unique needs of students.

  • Use research-based strategies and instructional practices that support student success.

  • Monitor progress throughout the school year and make adjustments as needed.

  • Engage families, staff, and community members in the school improvement process.

If your child's school is identified for Comprehensive or Targeted Support, families will receive additional information about the school's improvement plan and opportunities to participate in the process.
