The Technology Department is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of technology systems across our school district, ensuring support for 21st-century educational initiatives and daily operational needs. Our scope of work includes, but is not limited to, supporting the wide area network (WAN), local area networks (LANs) within each school, servers, internet connectivity and security, educational hardware and software aligned with modern standards, desktop and laptop device maintenance, technology training programs, web services, fiber optic infrastructure, and internal wiring.
Additional responsibilities encompass:
- Establishing and maintaining technology standards
- Managing hardware, software, and related services
- Maintaining relationships with technology vendors and suppliers
- Building and leading a team of skilled technology support staff
- Developing and overseeing preventive maintenance and support protocols
- Collaborating with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to meet county technology needs
